Rodney & Stacey Shaw

 

Senior Pastor

Rodney and Stacey Shaw have been a part of the pastoral staff since New Life Austin was established in 1992. After serving as assistant pastor and associate pastor, Pastor Shaw became senior pastor in 2010. In addition to preaching and teaching each week, he oversees pastoral care and the administration of New Life. The Shaws work as a team providing pastoral care and leading the ministries of the church. Stacey has served in most of the ministries of the church and has led many of them. She has a contagious smile and is known to be a woman of prayer and an encourager.

The Shaws have two children, Taylor and Brooke.

Pastor Shaw is an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International and earned a master of arts in theological studies from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a diploma in theology from Texas Bible College.

David Bernard

 

Bishop

Bishop Bernard is the founding pastor of New Life Austin. He and his wife, Connie, started our church in 1992 and served at New Life full-time till 2010 when he became the the general superintendent of the United Pentecostal Church International, which is headquartered in St. Louis, MO. He now serves New Life Austin as a pastoral advisor.

He is an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International and earned the master and doctor of theology in New Testament from the University of South Africa, doctor of jurisprudence with honors from the University of Texas, and bachelor of arts magna cum laude in mathematical sciences and managerial studies from Rice University.

Johnny Celey

 

Assistant Pastor

Pastor Johnny became a member of New Life Austin in 1996 and joined our staff in 2004. He has been an assistant pastor since 2013. He is heavily involved in most aspects of administration, manages our facility, and frequently teaches and preaches.

He and his wife, Julie, have two sons, Michael and Christopher. Julie faithfully serves in many ways behind the scenes at New Life and is one of the leaders of our Guest Services Ministry in which she thrives in encouraging people and making everyone feel welcome at our church.

Pastor Johnny is a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International and earned a master of arts in theological studies from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a bachelor of arts in history from the University of Texas at Austin.

Seth Simmons

 

Assistant Pastor

Pastor Seth became a member of New Life Austin in 2000. He served as our youth pastor from 2005-2011 and then as pastor of New Life Hutto in Hutto, Texas, from 2011-2016. He rejoined our staff as an assistant pastor in May 2017.

He and his wife, Sarah, have two daughters, Promise and Purity. Sarah is a gifted singer and finds joy in equipping others to thrive in ministry.

Pastor Seth is an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International. He formerly served as youth president of the South Texas District and currently serves as secretary-treasurer of the Austin Metro Section. He earned a master of arts in Christian ministry from Urshan Graduate School of Theology and a bachelor of science in corporate communication from the University of Texas at Austin.

Regena Dumas

 

Treasurer

Regena began attending New Life Austin in 2004 and joined our staff in 2008. She is a CPA and oversees the accounting of the church. Besides her work as treasurer, Regena loves working with our Bible quizzing program and children's ministry.

She earned a degree in accounting from Texas A&M University.

Debbie Gardner

 

Accounting Assistant

Debbie moved to Austin 2006 for a job opportunity and began attending New Life Austin at that time and joined our staff in 2010.

Debbie does much of the day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including posting accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliations.

Lisa Gomez

 

Executive Assistant

Lisa began attending New Life in 1997 and joined our staff in 2008.

Lisa is Pastor Shaw’s personal assistant and serves as office manager, overseeing much of the daily administration of the office while supporting the entire pastoral staff in various areas.

Jerediah & Alicia Montoya

 

Music Ministry Directors

The Montoyas moved from Michigan and joined our staff in early 2016 to lead our music program. Jerediah works primarily with our band and plays multiple instruments, and Alicia plays keys and is our main worship leader.

In addition to her musical talents, Alicia is licensed at the master's level in psychology in Texas. She earned a master of arts in counseling psychology from Western Michigan University and a bachelor of arts in psychology from Michigan State University.
